How Much Do Custom Embroidered Hats Cost?

Black mesh-back trucker cap with a gold crown logo and white lettering embroidered on the front

At our shop, custom embroidered hats cost $29 for a single hat with text on the front, and the price per hat drops as your order grows, down to as low as $19 a hat. A logo, or a second embroidery spot on the side or back, adds a little more. There are no setup fees, no separate digitizing fees and no minimums, and shipping is free in the contiguous US.

That’s the short answer. Below is what actually moves the price, what to watch for when you compare shops, and how to get the best price per hat without overbuying.

What custom embroidered hats cost at Embroidery Dude

  • One hat with front text: $29.
  • Bulk pricing: the price per hat drops at 2, 6, 12, 24, 48 and 100 hats, as low as $19 a hat.
  • Logos and extra spots: a logo, or a second spot on the side or back, adds a little more per hat.
  • Digital proof (optional): $8.99 if you want to approve your design before we stitch it.
  • Setup and digitizing: $0. It’s built into the price.
  • Shipping: free in the contiguous US.

You see your exact total in the hat designer while you build your hat, so there’s no quote to wait on for normal orders. Our bulk pricing table shows every price break in one place.

What changes the price of a custom hat

Text or a logo

Text is the simplest thing to stitch, so it’s the base price. A logo takes more work: before a machine can stitch it, someone has to turn your artwork into a stitch file. That step is called digitizing. Many shops charge a separate digitizing fee for it. We don’t; it’s already part of the logo price.

How many spots you stitch

The front of the hat is the standard spot. Caps can also be stitched on the left side, the right side and the back. Each extra spot adds a few dollars per hat, depending on whether it’s text or a logo and how many hats you order. A small word on the side or a website on the back is a popular way to make a plain logo hat feel finished.

How many hats you order

This is the biggest lever. The price per hat drops at 2, 6, 12, 24, 48 and 100 hats. Two details work in your favor here:

  • Text prices count every hat in your order.
  • Logo prices count every hat that carries that logo, across all styles and colors.

So if you order 12 Richardson 112 trucker hats and 12 Flexfit 6277 caps with the same logo, all 24 hats get the 24-hat price. You don’t have to pick one style to reach a price break.

Which hat you pick

Every hat in our shop starts at the same $29 for one hat with front text, whether it’s a mesh-back trucker, a fitted Flexfit or New Era, a soft dad hat or a cuffed beanie. Choose the style your people will actually wear, not the one that saves a dollar.

Fees to watch for when you compare hat shops

A low price per hat can hide a higher total. When you compare quotes for custom embroidered hats, check for these:

  • Minimum orders. Many shops require 12 or 24 hats. If you only need a few, that’s money spent on hats nobody wears.
  • Setup or digitizing fees. Often charged once per logo, and they can add a lot to a small order.
  • Shipping. Ask what it costs to get the hats to your door, not just what the hats cost.
  • Extra locations. Find out what a side or back spot adds before you fall in love with the design.

With us, there’s no minimum, no setup or digitizing fee, and shipping is free in the contiguous US, so the price in the designer is the price you pay.

How to get the best price per hat

  • Order together. One order of 24 costs less per hat than two orders of 12.
  • Reuse one logo. Logo pricing counts every hat with that logo, so mixing styles and colors still adds up to a bigger price break.
  • Start with the front. Add a side or back spot only where it really helps the design.
  • Send clean artwork. A vector file (AI, EPS, SVG or PDF) stitches cleanest. A high-resolution PNG or JPG works too.

Questions about custom hat prices

Is there a minimum order?

No. One hat is welcome, and so are 500. Single hats are great for gifts or for checking a design before a bigger run.

Do you charge to digitize my logo?

No separate fee. Digitizing is built into the logo price, and a real person checks every design before it’s stitched.

How long does it take?

Orders ship in 5–7 business days. If you’re working against a deadline, reach out before you order.

What about really big orders?

Bulk pricing applies automatically in the designer. For 500+ hats or if you need invoicing, send us a quote request and we’ll reply by email.
